The recorded online Self-Paced Workshop closely parallels our Live Four-Day Workshop in terms of the scope and depth of the content reviewed. Like the Live Workshop, it includes presentations on the most heavily emphasized and most challenging content domains addressed by the EPPP:
• Ethics and Professional Issues
• Abnormal Psychology
• Clinical Psychology
• Learning Theory and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies
• Industrial-Organizational Psychology
• Physiological Psychology and Psychopharmacology
• Life Span Development
• Statistics and Research Design
• Test Construction
The focus of each lecture is on key terms, concepts, theories, and research. In addition, practice questions similar in format and difficulty level to EPPP questions are discussed to clarify and reinforce the information presented and to illustrate the application of effective test-taking strategies. The lecture for each content domain is between 1-1/2 and 2-1/4 hours in length
The DSM-5 was introduced in May 2013 with some significant changes from the DSM-IV-TR. AATBS now offers a 4 hour Video Workshop that provides a concise review of diagnostic criteria associated with the most common disorders and will highlight important features, such as subtypes/specifiers and differential diagnosis.
The workshop provides an effective way of systematically learning about the disorders in DSM-5. It is an exceptional supplement to our study programs for mental health professionals preparing to take a licensure exam, and is also valuable for licensed clinicians seeking to become familiar with the DSM-5.
At the completion of the Video Workshop, participants will be able to:
- Recognize new, modified, and eliminated diagnostic criteria and classifications in the DSM 5
- Delineate the key symptoms associated with differential diagnoses of related disorders
- Understand important features associated with the DSM-5 disorders, e.g., subtypes, prevalence, differential diagnosis.
